Corona Virus Response

March 13, 2020

"Good Morning Church!  I just wanted to update you on what we, as a church, are doing in response to the Corona virus (COVID-19).

The current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak continues to evolve. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring this situation and is working with the World Health Organization (WHO) and state and local public health partners to respond to this emerging public health threat.

The leadership of Crossroads Church will continue to monitor public health official’s recommendations and assess the potential impact of the COVID-19 in our community.

We have also prepared the following frequently asked questions and answers regarding building operations.

What is Crossroads doing regarding the COVID-19 situation?

(Insert name of church) is continually monitoring the current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) reports and guidance from public health officials. We will assess the potential impact and take reasonable measures as may be dictated by changing events and guidance from public health officials.

Currently, there are two basic components to public health guidance.

  • Inform and educate regarding measures to minimize the spread of the virus (personal hygiene habits, stay home if sick and social distancing).

  • Prepare a continuity of operations plan to sustain operation.

We have coordinated with building staff and regarding guidance to minimize the spread of the virus and to develop contingency plans to maintain essential building operations.

What is Crossroads doing regarding cleaning and disinfecting activities?

  • Cleaning staff are using disinfectant solutions during the regular daily cleaning of all restrooms and in the entrance lobbies, all doors, door handles and knobs and other commonly touched areas.

  • If suspected or confirmed exposure of COVID-19 occurred within the building, any special cleaning services will be provided under the guidance and specific direction of the local public health department.

Listed below are the recommendations from the CDC website.

What You Should Do

  • Stay informed.

  • Remember to take everyday preventive actions that are always recommended to prevent the spread of respiratory diseases.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Stay home when you are sick.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

If you develop a fever and symptoms of respiratory illness, such as cough or shortness of breath, you should call ahead to a healthcare professional. If you have had close contact with someone showing these symptoms, you should call ahead to a healthcare professional. Your healthcare professional will work with your state’s public health department and CDC to determine if you need to be tested for COVID-19.

Crossroads Baptist Church was founded in 2001 with the vision of creating a church that people would love to attend and one that will continually impact the next generation for Christ. Our beliefs are founded in the Word of God, it is what and how we teach from our Sunday Services to our Life Groups.
